Mission Statement

We believe improv makes people’s lives better!  The principles of improvisational comedy form a life philosophy that helps people live more successful and enjoyable lives.


The goal of the Tucson Improv Movement is to develop the art of improvisational comedy to enrich the greater Tucson region.  TIM is dedicated to creating a positive, collaborative environment for community members to study the art of improv and bring comedic performances to the stage. TIM also is a dedicated member of the Tucson Community through service and educational opportunities for all ages and abilities.

Justin Lukasewicz: Owner and Executive Producer

Justin has been involved with the performing arts for over ten years.  While in college Justin performed with the Misericordia Players and produced Misericordia University’s first live comedy show CougarLive.  After moving to North Carolina he began an in-depth study of improvisational comedy in 2009 at the DSI Comedy Theater in Carrboro, NC, where he studied under Zach Ward and Paula Pazderka. While at DSI, Justin taught the improv 101 course, performed on IMPROV SLAM a short form team and OMAHA 9 a house harold team.  Justin also coached the DSI high school improv team GISUEPPE, and did corporate trainer work with DSI COMMUNICATION.

Justin has also studied the art of improvisation with: Jill Bernard (HUGE Theater), Eric Hunicutt (iO west), Kevin Patrick Robbins ( Impatient Theatre Co)
